Curriculum - Overview
Northeastern's Full-time MBA is a 60-credit program that can be completed in 24 months of full-time study, including a six-month paid corporate residency. In addition to building a strong foundation of business knowledge, you can gain practical experience by participating in a corporate residency, specializing in a career track, and completing a business plan project for a corporate partner. The curriculum also has a globalization requirement that can strengthen your ability to compete in the global marketplace.
The program starts in Fall each year. Prior to the start of the program, you will complete pre-work in accounting, economics, and statistics. During Orientation, you will participate in week-long management intensive that assesses core competencies and helps build community through team-based projects.
In the first year, you will take MBA foundation courses and participate in a career management course that helps prepare you for your corporate residency.You fulfill your globalization requirement during your first year through the International Field Study program , a field-based experience overseas.
From June through December, you can participate in a six-month, paid corporate residency at a leading company. When you return from corporate residency, you will focus your academic work in one of three chosen career tracks: Finance, Marketing, or Operations and Supply Chain Management. The curriculum in the second year also includes courses that emphasize strategy and enterprise growth, including a Business Plan Project where teams of students deliver actionable business growth plans for Northeastern's corporate partners.
Career Tracks
As a Northeastern MBA student, you will specialize in one of three career tracks:
Finance
Marketing
Operations and Supply Chain Management
Northeastern's corporate partners have identified each of these areas as critical to their success in the global marketplace. Each track has an advisory board consisting of executives who provide expertise that helps shape the curriculum and the student experience. You can complete the requirements of your specialization by taking a rigorous five-course sequence within your chosen career track. You will also be paired with a mentor in your track who can offer advice and share best practices that can help guide you in your career.
Finance Track
To complete the career track in Finance, students must take Investment Analysis and fulfill the requirements of one of the two following sub-tracks:
Corporate Finance sub-track
To complete the Corporate Finance sub-track, students are required to take Financial Strategy or Valuation and Value Creation and three of the below listed elective courses.

Investments sub-track
To complete the Investments sub-track, students are required to take Financial Risk Management or Portfolio Management and three of the below listed elective courses.

The Finance Career Track Chair may approve other electives for inclusion in the track as the elective curriculum evolves. Note that in any given term only a subset of these electives will be available.
Marketing Track
To complete the career track in Marketing, students must take Marketing Research and four of the below listed elective courses.
