Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Born has taught investments/portfolio management, corporate finance, and most recently international finance. Much of his research has focused on security market reactions to new information, particularly the response of share prices to changes in dividend policy.

Industry and Academic Experience

Prior to joining the College of Business Administration faculty in 1988, Professor Born served as assistant professor at the University of Kentucky. Professor Born was named Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in 2002. While on sabbatical, Professor Born served as the Dean for the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.

Professional Services

Professor Born is a member of a number of professional associations and recently served as an associate editor of Financial Review. He has also served as editorial board member for the Journal of Business Research.
