NEU-SEI-FSP-Alumni-GroupAs students return from their experience abroad after participation from the Field Study Program, we find that many students are planted with the social entrepreneurship bug. These students want outlets in which to share their experiences and connect with other students that are also committed to promoting social enterprise, whether it be through working with organizational connections made in the field, or partnering with local organizations in Boston.

  •  As a student, the possibilities to be involved with the Social Enterprise Institute are endless. First, students interested in enhancing their academics as social entrepreneurs can take courses offered by the College of Business Administration in Social Entrepreneurship or a Seminar in Micro-lending. In the future, CBA students taking the Social Entrepreneurship core can receive a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship Studies. Secondly, students can take advantage of our domestic volunteer opportunities, by assisting with the Domestic Microfinance Fund or the Citizen Schools Apprenticeship Program. Lastly, students can join the awareness and action network with other students interested in the area of social entrepreneurship by joining student led organizations such as NetImpact Undergraduate Chapter or the Field Study Program Alumni Group. Both students groups are catalysts for activities and programs offered by the Social Enterprise Institute dedicated to social business and civic engagement.  If you are a student group on campus or an organization seeking partnerships with the Social Enterprise Institute's Domestic Programs or the University wide Urban Engagement Initiative, please contact our student group partners.

  • "Staying involved with NetImpact and the Social Enterprise Institute's local initiatives has helped me connect what I learned from my experience in South Africa to making an impact here in Boston.  It has proved as an effective way to motivate students to get involved and put what we learned abroad into action at Northeastern."
