Students for Social Enterprise

  • SEI ALumni Group

As students return from their experience abroad after participation from the Field Study Program, we find that many students are planted with the social entrepreneurship bug. These students want outlets in which to share their experiences and connect with other students that are also committed to promoting social enterprise, whether it be through working with organizational connections made in the field, or partnering with local organizations in Boston.

The Field Study Program Alumni group is already in motion; our alumni are working with other Northeastern University students groups towards Alternative Spring initiative, where students will work on building a primary school for undocumented children in Los Alcarizzos, located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The Alumni Group is also working with a South African children’s home in KwaZulu Natal to research ground water alternatives to build a sustainable water source for children impacted by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Other student groups, faculty or professionals who are looking to assist the Alumni Group in their projects can contact Timothy Spittle (spittle.t@husky.neu.edu) or Michael Cantalino (cantalino.m@husky.neu.edu) for more information.

  •  "The FSP Alumni group has been a great way for me to not only keep in touch with the people I travelled with this past summer, but also to continue my growth as a social entrepreneur. Our group is working on projects which I can be involved with here at school to have a direct impact on my local community as well as continuing projets that we started while abroad."
