Research and Teaching Interests
Professor Kursh develops and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Finance, Business Overview (a multidisciplinary course), and Telecommunications in the College of Business and the College of Engineering.

Industry and Academic Experience
Professor Kursh has extensive experience in computer software and the Internet, including software development, software project management, contract performance, intellectual property, and valuation. He was the founder of a software company that was acquired by McGraw-Hill, and he is the author of articles, software products, cases, and a book published by Financial Times Prentice-Hall.
Professor Kursh was named a Fulbright Scholar in 2005. He serves as a General Editor in Finance and Information Technology for a division of Pearson Education. His industry consulting clients include ACS (NYSE-traded), AT&T, ATX Communications (publicly-traded), Citibank, FAST Search & Technology, Freddie Mac, Hartford, HP, IBM, IDT (NYSE-traded), Sun Microsystems, Telcordia Technologies; closely-held regional businesses; and private equity funds. He has also been a mentor capitalist for several ventures.
Professor Kursh received his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and his AB from Boston College, Magna Cum Laude, Scholar of the College. He has received research funding from the GE Foundation, the Kauffman Foundation, and two federal government agencies. Professor Kursh previously served as academic coordinator of MBA Programs and Director of the MBA Consulting Team Project.
Dr. Kursh recently earned the IEEE Computer Society Software Development Professional Certification (CSDP) and he has passed the examination to become certified as a business valuation expert. He remains current by taking continuing education courses and participating in professional and academic associations.
